ISAL Students visit Back Bay Galleries

ISAL Students at the Leica Gallery in Boston

Every session ISAL students go on a field trip around Boston to explore a new part of the city and apply what they are learning in class. Last week, our Business English class went on a Back Bay gallery tour. Back Bay is one of Boston's 23 official neighborhoods, well known for its Victorian brownstones and boutique shopping.

The focus of this field trip was on photography, since students had been discussing the subject in class. They visited the Pucker, Leica, and Robert Klein galleries. Not only did they immerse themselves in the Boston art scene, but they also learned about the photography process at the Leica gallery. From student projects to professional shows, they saw a wide range of works.

As a follow up activity, students had to present a photo from each gallery and explain why it resonated with them. It was a high level analysis that exceeded the expectations of their instructor.  We'll definitely be taking more students classes to visit the galleries, explore Back Bay and practice their English language skills!
